Ophelia's Song

Hamlet has left for England, leaving Ophelia going crazy. She wants to speak with the Queen, so Gertrude goes to talk to her. When she gets there, Ophelia is singing random songs and dancing around and cannot even put together a comprehensible sentence. King Claudius comes and attempts to speak to Ophelia, but she leaves only to return at a later time.

Laertes seeks revenge on his father's murder. His body is found and Laertes is upset with the fact that there was not a proper service for Polonius. He demands that his father receives an extravagant service.

Meanwhile, Hamlet returns to Denmark. A sailor who spotted him tells Horatio.

Why do you think Ophelia went crazy? Do you think Polonius should receive a proper service? Why do you think Hamlet returned to Denmark?

  1. Ophelia went crazy for one reason only. Her dad was just killed by her boyfriend. I think any girl would go crazy if she was in that situation.

I dont think that Polonius should receive a proper service because he was a sneaky person that meddled in everyone's lives.

Hamlet has returned to Denmark to finish out his plan of killing King Claudius.

  2. I think that Ophelia went crazy because of her father's death. Her father was killed by Hamlet, the one she loves. I do not think that Polonius should receive a proper service. He was spying on Hamlet which was wrong. He should not ahve done that. Hamlet returned to Denmark to continue his plan to avenge his father's murder.

she went crazy cuz she was a very controled girl, always being told what to do by 3 people- hamlet, her dad, and brother. her dad was murdered by hamlet, hamlet set off to where ever(story changes) and her brother is away. that is it.
